The TPS Collection by API Technologies is a portable Commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solution designed for powering command & control communications systems and other critical EW & weapons equipment. The TPS features weatherproof & ruggedized construction which allows it to withstand extreme temperatures (-40°C to 85°C) and harsh environments including shock, vibration, and water spray. When fielded, the TPS reduces fuel consumption and wear and tear on vehicles by eliminating run time to support powering fielded special ops equipment.
The TPS can accept power from generators or community power and converts AC power to 28 Volts of DC power @ a variety of amperages (including 150A, 100A, 75A models). Sources of AC supply to the TPS can be one of three different AC inputs. (A variety of source-power to TPS cable assemblies are available)
The TPS includes a battery charger that delivers 28 Volts of DC power @ 10A to a connected battery. The battery charger features a battery detect to ensure one is connected and determine charge state and float charge the battery to 100% for immediate crank ready state. Reverse polarity protection is included in the rectifier’s battery charger.
The TPS has a built-in “soft start” feature, circuit protection, and transient voltage suppression as well as an automatic overtemperature shut down to protect the TPS and critical loads. Integrated in this unit is forced air cooling and heat sinks to aid in heat dissipation. A local “push to view” status indicator button on the front panel of the unit is available to manually check status for AC inputs, DC output, LAN connection, Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS), battery charger, and temperature.
The TPS provides remote monitoring of battery charge state, circuit breaker status, DC outlet status, line current, voltage, power factor, AC input status, input voltage, internal temperature. User is also able to remotely turn the DC outlet on/off, turn the battery charger on/off, create alarm limits for temperatures, current, voltage, and more. Remote communication and monitoring protocols include Telnet, SnMPv2, and Web Interface.
Portable TPS are available with or without features such as: Battery Charger, Remote Communications, EPO (Emergency Power Off), Roll Cage, Mounting Brackets, Weather-Proofing, Cable Sets, Junction Box, and more.
